Helen Howes Sewing Machines
|Sewing machine parts, manuals, and spares for sale; free advice, and other interesting stuff...|
I specialise in veteran and vintage domestic machines, but have a few parts for industrials and odd things
Not everything is online - I have a job to get it uploaded fast enough, but I do try to have only actually-available items on the site..
I've been stocktaking, with the overarching ideal of never having to do it again (fat chance) because I plan to be more efficient (ha!), so I can be pretty certain that the stuff you see is actually in the boxes..
I don't think I've ever counted so many little bits of metal..
I've remade the Feet Pages, and have a new link page with images to help you ID your errant attachments HERE
This site is updated pretty much every day, and today
is no exception
We're rebuilding lots of stuff again.. Check back often, as we have all manner of goodies in store, starting with
How to Fettle a Treadle (a novel in four illustrated parts)
How to Convert a Back-clamp 66 to Side-Clamping (more of a short story...) - we will be making new links throughout the site and lots of pretty pages with images to help you fix and use your machines. First of these is a nice illustrated PLATES link page... Go play...
I keep a Wants list - if you can't find what you want please ask...
We've made a BLOG for the more inconsequential (and sequential) stuff...
NEW - A rather dismissive and frankly rude page about 206x13 needles and the machines which need them
More New Information: How To Remove and Replace the Bobbin Case and Plate on a 66/99/185 Singer
And Yet Another NEW PAGE - Wheeler And Wilson Stuff
'Nother NEW PAGE - How to Fettle a Hand Crank
And Another - How To Clean and Adjust a Shuttle
NEW PAGE - Willcox and Gibbs Chain-stitch Machine Information and Parts
I take credit/debit card payments (no cheques, please, too 18th Century..) - please see the Ordering page for details.
PLEASE NOTE - the GB Post Office has put prices up substantially, particularly for Packets (anything over an inch thick when wrapped is a Packet), so postage rates will be higher.. However, if you add items and have them posted together, the weight bands are higher, so there is a saving..
Now gathering email addresses for a Newsletter - just an odd email when I do major additions or rejigs of pages.. And the newsletter people get discounts or special offers
Email me on email@example.com to be added to the list. No selling-on or spam, I promise..
